Syfy Cancels Stargate Universe

Disappointing news today as Syfy has announced that they will not renew Stargate Universe, effectively bringing to an end the perennial Stargate franchise on TV, at least for now. Earlier today we received the following statement from the channel:

“Syfy will end its original action-adventure series Stargate Universe when the show returns with the final 10 episodes of its second season in the Spring of 2011. The Stargate franchise — consisting of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe — has aired on Syfy since 2002.”

Again, disappointing news, but perhaps not completely unexpected due to the show not bringing in high numbers in the ratings. Stay tuned to Pop Culture Zoo as we will still provide complete coverage of the second half of season two and perhaps bring you some more Stargate surprises.

The series really turned around in this half of season 2. If they could keep this up, i would like for SGU to have a third (or more) season

it really is sad they canned it… But yes expected, I think it was too much thinking and not enough alien gunfights for people.
