As part of the advent calendar on the official BBC Doctor Who site, today fans were treated to a brand new trailer for the forthcoming Christmas Day special episode “The Next Doctor.” I love the new scenes glimpsed in this trailer and really like the heightened mystery surrounding whether or not David Morrissey is actually playing the next Doctor, literally. The way I figure it, the special will end with the revelation that Morrissey really is the future Doctor, Morrissey isn’t the Doctor, but another Time-Lord or we will get a glimpse of the true eleventh Doctor. Russell T. Davies has promised a big ending, so we’ll see if he continues to deliver on his hyperbole. Meanwhile, watch below and see how long the days between now and Christmas take to go by.
