WARNING: ‘BLACKEST NIGHT’ SPOILERS ABOUND!!!

Earlier this year there was much ado about DC Direct revealing the identity of two dead heroes turned Black Lantern from Geoff Johns’ epic mini-series Blackest Night. It looks like they aren’t done with the spoilers. In the November solicitations out today, there is a blacked out image labeled as Wonder Woman included in the Blackest Night Series 4 Action Figure wave and featuring the following text:

“This series includes Wonder Woman, who is surprisingly transformed by the happenings of the Blackest Night (Read the comics to learn more!)”

The image is below. Even thought the figure is in silhouette, you can make out what appear to be bands on the legs and arms, which would be consistent with a Black Lantern uniform. Neither the Blackest Night #5 nor the Wonder Woman #38 give any indication of any change severe enough to warrant Diana becoming a Black Lantern. It’s possible, much like Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Tempest and The Spectre, that she gets transformed with the mini-series and the change of status quo will appear in Wonder Woman #39. Just as likely, though, is Wonder Woman taking another power ring. Or, is it possible that this might actually be Hippolyta, Diana’s mom and the Wonder Woman of World War II? No matter what happens to the Amazon it will certainly be exciting to read. Study the image below and let us know what you think.
