Top Cow Comics announced today that they will be working with Arclight Studios and Platinum Studios to create a feature-length film based on the wildly successful comic ‘Witchblade‘. According to the official press release on Top Cow’s website, the endeavor will be shot on location in Australia.
“The exact story line and nature of the script is being kept under wraps, but will stay true to the Witchblade mythology, which centers around a deadly ornate gauntlet that gives superpowers to the wearer, a chosen female bearer of each generation, who possesses it.”
There is not currently a director or scriptwriter attached to the project, though an announcement is expected soon as the studios’ timeline has the film begininng production in September of 2008.
