Today DC Comics announced on their blog, The Source, a new series of graphic novels debuting next year under the banner EARTH ONE. However, these are not just one-off stories set in some nebulous “Elseworlds” continuity, these are continuing series set on a brand new Earth, appropriately the multiverse Earth designated Earth One. The first two series announced are SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE by J. Michael Straczynski and artist Shane Davis and BATMAN: EARTH ONE by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank. These are two graphic novels spotlighting the most powerful heroes of the DC Universe, with their first years and earliest moments retold in a standalone, original graphic novel format.
