If you have tried to get on the Weta website this morning and spent endless minutes hoping it might finally load you already know just how hot the Weta collectibles revealed at SDCC are. The good folks from Weta pulled back the curtain on a line-up to include Halo 3, Narnia, Doctor Who, Weta Original Rayguns and others. We have all been have been anxiously waiting for collectibles such as the Master Chief to finally be revealed. Now that day is here, we are fortunately not disappointed. In fact, in regards to the Halo line, not only were we thankful to see the craftsmanship we have come to know as the hallmark of Weta Workshop, but we found a surprise as well.
Weta has taken the concept of “Limited Edition” to the ultimate level. They have taken the four statues on the Halo 3 line and created a single unique cast of each one. These one-of-kind castings are silver plated statues with solid Stirling silver parts. If you would like to be the only one in the world to own one of these singular statues, stay tuned. Each one will be auctioned on eBay in August.
