Dr. Grordbort’s: A New Miniature Raygun and More

Just in time for the holidays, Weta Workshop’s Dr. Grordbort’s line has got you covered with two new offerings.   Just announced this week is a new miniature raygun and a smart looking satchel type bag that are sure to get your attention.  Check them out below and then send Santa your revised Christmas list posthaste!

The Minature F.M.O.M. Wave Disrupter Gun

The F.M.O.M. Wave Disrupter Gun is a miniaturized version of the 17 inch-long original designed by by Greg Broadmore and then sculpted and built by Dave Tremont.  While the miniature version may not pack the same heft as its larger sibling, having reviewed the previous release, the Mini Goliathon 83, I have no doubt the Wave Disruptor will be a collectible in high demand.

The pre-order is exclusive to Weta website, with availability in January 2009 and will sell for US $60.  This edition, as always produced with the “purest Venusian metal,” will be limited to 900 pieces, so order yours while they last.

Dr Grordbort’s Satchel

This military-style satchel is styled to fit the Dr. Grordbort’s legacy and should nicely compliment any pith helmet.  Handmade in New Zealand, Weta promises that it has been designed for the utmost of functionality for the modern man or woman.  With several pockets, there is even one that will fit your iPhone, although it is  cautioned that this pocket  “may be a tad snug for your Compact Transposition Conductor.”

The satchel is also available only from the Weta website, but is now shipping.  Selling for US $99, if you order before February 28th, you will get a notebook, F.M.O.M. keyring, Goliathon 83 pin and four dazzling Grordbort’s postcards at no extra charge.

New ‘Terminator Salvation’ Trailer

The new trailer for Terminator Salvation is making its way around the interwebs today, three days before it is slated to appear in theaters in front of The Day the Earth Stood Still. This trailer certainly echoes the ‘war movie’ feel that director McG has stated he was aiming for and sets the film up to be the most intense of the series.
